Research Summary

Megan is interested in host-pathogen interactions during polymicrobial infections, and her current work focuses on interactions between the host airway epithelium, bacterial pathogens, and viruses during Cystic Fibrosis respiratory infections.

Research Lab Affiliation

Why I Chose Pitt

Pitt has very strong host-pathogen biology research programs, and Dr. Bomberger in particular has excellent model systems for evaluating bacterial-host cell interactions. Additionally, Pitt is home to a nationally-recognized Cystic Fibrosis Research Center, and our collaborations with CFRC researchers are key to my current studies.
